01. Introduction
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
everythingFPS competitive play is based off of a tournament system which was created for players and teams to compete for fun and glory of FPS games. The tournaments are Community Tournaments and without a community we wouldn’t have tournaments to run. We as eFPS admins hope to bring a fun and an enjoyful atmosphere to play at. Please remember we are here to keep things organized and we manage these tournaments completely out of our own time for you as players.

02. Tournament Structure
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Depending on player sign ups, each tournament may be different, but it is guaranteed that it will consist of a tournament bracket in either double or single elimination. Matches will be played all on the same day until the bracket is completed. Failure to complete a match will result in a forfeit.

03. Player Expectations
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tournament members have certain responsibilities that must be fulfilled for the tournament to remain functional. Those responsibilities include:

1. It is expected that all team members are fully familiar with the rules. Ignorance is not an excuse.

2. Team captains must be easily accessible. Contact via Discord and Steam must be readily available.

3. Team members are expected to keep current with all changes posted on the website and Discord. This includes but may not be limited to: schedule updates, rule changes, maps, etc. The eFPS website and discord is to be checked right before a match is scheduled to start.

4. All team members are held responsible for the actions of their teammates. The poor decisions of one member may in some circumstances place the entire team at risk of punishment. Members are encouraged to educate their teammates on proper conduct and official tournament rules.

5. Teams and their members are required to respect the rulings of an administrator. Attempts to denigrate an administrator will result in a season long suspension of you and possibly your team. All rulings are final.

6. You cannot lie to an admin. Intentionally misrepresenting your situation may result in suspension for yourself and possibly team. All rule violators are normally given a chance to fess up. If hard proof of a violation is at hand and the culprit lies to the administrator to try and escape the situation harsher penalties will be given.

05. Team Rules
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Teams are responsible for ensuring they understand and follow these rules. Violation of any requirement listed here will result in the suspension of the offending team(s) as well as other match penalties as determined by tournament administrators. If you do not understand these rules clearly it is YOUR responsibility to seek clarification from a tournament administrator.

1. Demos: Players are required to record first-person demos of all tournament matches. You must have a separate demo for each round of play. If a formal complaint or dispute is made then demos may be asked for by tournament administrators. If a player is asked to provide a point of view demo for review upon a dispute and cannot provide the demo the match will be ruled in favor of the opposing team.

2. Sportsmanship: All participants in everythingFPS Tournaments will be required to show good sportsmanship throughout the season. The use of insults, racism, prejudice, or other inappropriate behavior will result in competition suspensions against the offending player(s) or team. If a player is caught cheating in an everythingFPS match his or her team will automatically forfeit each and every match in which the cheating player participated. It is the player’s responsibility to verify that the computer system from which he or she participates is cheat-free and otherwise in good standing.

06. Player Rules
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Ringers: Match ringers will not be tolerated. A ringer is a player who is playing under a different name/account when they are listed on a different team in the tournament. If a match ringer is suspected notify everythingFPS administrators immediately. Ringing or allowing an individual to appear as you or another member of your team in an official match will result in suspension from the tournament. Any player caught attempting to ring prior to match start will be automatically suspended for one game minimum.

2. Unacceptable Player Names: Player names are NOT to contain words or phrases that pertain to profanity, racism, religious, prejudice, or sexism. Failure to request a change to a more agreeable name will result in the removal of the player from the tournament or a forced name change at the discretion of a tournament administrator.

3. Name Changes: Please request any name change by contacting an everythingFPS administrator.

4. STEAM ID’s: If a player is caught using the incorrect steam id during a match then that player will be suspended a match, and the match will have to be replayed without that player playing in the match. Steam ID’s must be submitted 24 hours before your match or you will not be eligible to play in that match.

5. Cheating: If a player is caught cheating at any time it will result in an automatic suspension from the eFPS Website. There is a zero tolerance policy for cheaters.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. All matches are to be played on SF Approved Servers. If there is a case where the match is not played on SF servers, even upon agreement of teams, then the match will be nullified and have to be replayed.

2. Schedules are selected by eFPS ranked points seeding.

3. Equal number players must play against eachother in TDM, at no time will you be allowed to play 1v2, 2v3 or have uneven matches.

4. The match is over after a player or team wins 2 out of 3(or 3 out of 5 in the championship). Once the matches are completed the player or team with the most overall round wins gets the Win the other with a loss.

4.1. In the event of a tie score (1-1 or 2-2 in the championship), The tiebreaker round is to be played out.

08. Basic Pre-Game
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) Valve’s proprietary anti-cheat software is required in all tournament play.

2. Match servers must be running in sv_pure 1 mode; with the whitelist found in the config download, during all tournament matches. Pure status can be checked in the console upon server join or mapchange. This means that sprays will be enabled. Sprays that represent anything related to map models are considered illegal (i.e., charger stations, rebel/combine models, weapon models, ammo models, etc.).

3. All matches are to be played using equalizer, this includes 1v1s. For TDM games, the first team listed on the bracket is rebels(red) and the second team is combine(blue).

4. Players and teams have 5 minutes after the scheduled match time to join the game server and "ready up". You also receive 5 minutes in between rounds.

5. Finally both players and teams should check server settings to verify that they are correct. If no objections are raised during this time then neither player or team may challenge the settings during or after the match. By joining the server and starting the match you agree to the settings as they stand.

6. Pings: Servers will be assigned by admins on the day of the event. If two separate servers are used, each players/teams home map will be played on their home server which will be determined by the admin. If there is a tiebreaker round there will be a coin flip for which player can select the tiebreaker server from the prior 2 servers they played on.

7. cl_updaterate: Your cl_updaterate must be within the allowable limits of 20 and 200

09. Match Start
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Players will use the !menu or !run command to change the map to their home map.

2. After this task is complete you then start your demo (record demoname in console).

3. Once everyone is ready to play you start up the cfg by using !run match. Do not use !run big or any other cfgs other than !run match, ensure that the round is 15 minutes for both TDM and FFA play.

4. Match play has begun once the countdown runs out.

5. If a server crashes before 2 minutes have been completed the server must be restarted and the score should revert to 0-0. In the event of a second crash or continuing difficulties and an alternate server cannot be located the teams should go on discord and contact any eFPS administrator there. At administrative discretion tournament administrators will decide on a suitable server or provide an extension on the match date. If the server crashes after the 10 minute mark the match is over and the scores prior to the crash are the final scores for that round. Players caught purposefully causing a server crash to reset a losing score or position will face a match overturn and suspension.

10. During the Match
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Physics Lock - Players are not allowed to intentionally use a physics lock. A physics lock is when a large number of physics objects are touching each other and the engine treats them as a single object often to reduce server load. This is often used to block passages permanently.

2. Out Of Bounds - A player who ends up in an out of bounds area on a map (via a physics glitch or from enemy fire) must immediately return to the legal area. If this is not possible due to clipping issues or should a player end up trapped outside of the playable area of a map they are required to immediately suicide (kill in console) and continue the round. This will be a -1 on the scoreboard. Failing to suicide promptly in this situation or remaining outside of the map or in an illegal area in order to wait out the clock will result in a match overturn. Purposefully attaining an illegal area or escaping the map will also result in a match overturn.

3. Props - Sawblades will NOT be allowed to be hidden by punting one directly into the ground making the item invisible and unable to retrieve. This will result in a round loss. Repeat offense will be a forfeit.
3a. Throwing props outside of the playable area is allowed.

4. Grenade Glitch - Crouching to the left of a brush to underhand toss a grenade through a wall is prohibited. This will result in a round loss. Repeat offense will be a forfeit.

5. FOV/No Draw Glitch - Intentionally pushing your player model into a brush to in return get a nodraw view of a spot on a map for intel is prohibited. This will result in a round loss. Repeat offense will be a forfeit.

6. Modified Files - Match servers must be running in sv_pure 1 mode with the whitelist from the config pack which forces all model sound texture skin and associated files to be loaded from the steam gcfs. The only modified files that will be allowed are those involving the resource folder (crosshairs / clientscheme) and the cfg folder (configs). Servers unable to run in sv_pure 1 mode for whatever reason are not acceptable for match play.

7. Server Settings - Server settings are not allowed to be changed during mid-map. If a variable is found to be incorrect (such as the timelimit) then the server admin may perform an rcon pause to stop the match alert the other team and change the setting. No settings will be allowed to be changed without this procedure. No substitutions can be made during this time. This is strictly for a server settings change.

8. Lag - If the server becomes extremely laggy for a period of time over 3 minutes the match must be stopped unless both teams agree to continue playing. If they don’t agree then an admin needs to be contacted to restart the server.

9. Substitutions - Player substitutions are allowed only between rounds.

10. Half Time: After finishing the first round of the match players are allowed an optional 5-minute break.

If a team fails to show up in the designated server or fails to return after the 5 minute break the team still present may report that round as a win for themselves.

11. Post Match
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Once the match ends the match will automatically be reported on the eFPS site, admins will take care of updating the bracket with the winning teams. The players or captains simply need to wait for instruction by an admin on where and who to play next.

2. Disputes - If you are filing a dispute of the match then you need reach out to an admin during or immediately after your match. If necessary please provide links to screenshots and videos of proof of what you are disputing.

- At any time during your dispute the administrator may ask for screenshots and/or demos which ALL players competing in the disputed match are supposed to have. If they fail to have these items then the dispute can be nulled.
- Any decision made by an admin on a dispute is final. Any arguments may result in other consequences.
